Vision Therapy : The connection between Vision and Learning

Vision is our dominant sense and primary way of gathering information. From birth, our vision develops before hearing and speech. If vision is in some way delayed, hearing and speech development could also be compromised. Just think, if visual input skills are not fully developed, then visual output is likely to be altered in byf difficulty in reading, learning and behavior, just to name a few.

Many children and adults have a treatable visual dysfunction that affects reading and learning. Approximately one in five children are affected by an undiagnosed visual disorder. Although school screening check for 20/20 acuity, they do not test for vision skills and eye coordination. Many of these children will pass the school eye screening and unfortunately not be recommended for a comprehensive vision exam.
