Online  Tutorial: Improve Your Knowledge and Skills In Evaluating Students' Vision Health
The National Eye Institute, Kansas Optometric Association and University of Kansas School of Nursing has developed a unique online tutorial to prepare nurses, health professionals and educators to conduct basic visual assessments and eye examinations for infant to pre-school childhood populations.

Help For Kansas Students Ending Their School Year Behind in Reading Scores Kansas public school students preparing to enroll in special summer reading classes may be eligible for a state-funded program developed to increase reading performance. This State of Kansas-funded program identifies second, third and fourth grade students who are behind in reading skills and who have specific visual skills deficits. These students then participate in 25 weeks of vision therapy exercises to remediate the visual skills. The reading skills are again tested for improvement.

This informative workshop will address s pecial issues related to Autism, Tourette Syndrome, ADHD and related disorders .

When:  Tuesday, May 9th , 8:30 am to 12:00 noon
Cost :  Free for parent, $10 for professionals

Families for Adoption Roundtable
Families for Adoption, an international and domestic adoption ministry at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, MO, is hosting an Adoption Roundtable for anyone interested in adoption or foster care. The event will feature panelists from All God's Children International, Missouri Baptist Children's Home Children and Family Ministries, the Family Conservancy and adoption legal counsel Kevin Kenney.
